Why you should consider the Clare Easter Races

When it comes to the Easter long weekend, there are plenty of competing events around the state - but the Hill Livestock Clare Easter Races is another event to consider – and here is why!

It’s the perfect weekend away

With the open-skies, rolling hills and a landscape worthy of a thousand Lonely Planet features located in our very own backyard, a mini break to the Clare Valley has never looked more tempting.

For the wine and food connoisseur, the Clare Valley offers a mecca of world-renowned wineries and restaurants matching anything you would dream up during your European holiday. The even better news, there is plenty for the kids to do as well.

With a 4 day weekend approaching for Easter, it’s the perfect time to book some time away and visit the Clare Valley Easter Races while you’re there.

There’s live music

It’s not the Clare Valley Easter Races unless there’s live music throughout the day - in between each race you can enjoy music by Erin Jae.

After the last race, DJ Lochstock will be spinning his tunes until 11.30pm – because we know the party doesn’t stop early – it’s the Easter long weekend after all.

Food trucks and pop up bars

It’s not a country race meeting without a selection of food trucks to choose from and this year is no exception with wood fire pizzas from Pete’s Pizza, O’Laughlins catering Van, a yiros van and South Australian Barrel Racing BBQ.

We’ll also be bringing the Pimm’s Pop Up Bar back to the track – the perfect race day drink to whet your appetite. Along with an Espresso Martini Bar.

We host our state-wide fashion competition

We offer a Fashion At The Races qualifying event for both menswear and womenswear categories. For your chance at a $1,000 cash for the best-dressed womenswear winner, you should read up on the competition criteria here – and start planning your race day ensemble.

With less than two months to go until the Easter long weekend, all we have to say is giddy up and get planning. Tickets are on sale now.
