South Australia takes home the 2019 National Apprentice Race Series. It was Queensland who was leading for most of the series, but SA has finished on top as Kayla Crowther wins the final heat in Melbourne today.
Round 1 - Launceston, Tasmania
Saturday March 9 saw the first round of the National Apprentice Race Series (NARS). Queensland took home first place with top points, followed by, Victoria and Tasmania.
However is was our South Australian apprentice jockey Gary Lo who won the race on Pontypaul, however points were not counted as he was not wearing state colours.
Round 2 - Perth, Western Australia
Wednesday March 13 saw the second leg of the National Apprentice Race Series. The Queensland apprentice Baylee Northdurft aboard Fearhildi scored top points for Queensland in the second round, followed by Western Australia and Victoria.
Round 3 - Brisbane, Queensland
Round 3 at Doombden Racecourse on Wednesday March 20 saw South Australian TAB Apprentice Academy Jockey, Raquel Clark, take first place securing her 100th win for the racing season.
Round 4 - Strathalbyn, South Australia
Wednesday March 28 saw the fourth leg of the National Apprentice Race Series. It was Kenny Lau from South Australia riding Ashady Hussy who took home the top points, followed by Northern Territory and Western Australia.
Round 5 - Melbourne, Victoria
Wednesday April 3 saw the final heat for the National Apprentice Race Series. It was South Australia's own Kayla Crowther who took out the top points for SA on See Me Exceed for trainer Mick Price.
