Dare to Dream delivering for lucky owners

TRSA’s Dare to Dream initiative has delivered success for many of the competition’s lucky winners.

Under the initiative, competition winners get to enjoy a 10 per cent share in two racehorses, with all costs – jockeys, vet, race entry fees etc. – taken care of for two years.

Launched late last year, Dare to Dream gave 250 South Australians – 25 syndicates, each comprising 10 people – the experience of owning racehorses with five of the state’s top stables: Chris Bieg, Tony and Calvin McEvoy, Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas, Richard and Chantelle Jolly, and Ryan Balfour.

Since the horses started racing earlier this year, many Dare to Dream runners have been strong performers on the track.

To date, the Dare to Dream pin-up horse has been Blow Torch, from the McEvoy stable.

Since becoming part of Dare to Dream, Blow Torch has posted three wins: at Sandown in Victoria, at Murray Bridge and at Morphettville. In addition, the ultra-consistent gelding has been placed five times.

Blow Torch’s stablemate, Diplomatic Measure has also fared well, registering a win and two placings from three starts at Morphettville Parks, plus a win at Port Lincoln.

Kalamon, from the Jolly barn, has also registered two wins and multiple city placings, while stablemate Flying Pierro has a metropolitan third to his credit.

The Macdonald-Gluyas stable has promising three-year-old filly Daily Spirit, which already has two metropolitan placings from just three career starts, all for Dare to Dream.

Bieg’s Mullaghmore has placed twice since being involved in Dare to Dream, while the Balfour stable has a good opinion of She’s Krupt, already a three-time placegetter and a future winner.
