EVENTS, PARTNERSHIP & ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT - THOROUGHBRED RACING SA
Our Industry Marketing Team are on the look out for a Full-Time or Part-Time Events, Partnership and Administration Assistant.

Thoroughbred Racing SA is the controlling body for horseracing in South Australia. It represents, promotes and supports the State's thoroughbred racing industry.Thoroughbred Racing SA is assisted in this role by its two shareholders;
- Country Racing SA (CRSA) which presents the State's 24 provincial and country clubs
- South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) which conducts the Adelaide metropolitan races
Thoroughbred Racing SA also regularly consults with owners, breeders, trainers, jockeys and bookmakers to monitor the current status of the industry and develop long term plans.
Thoroughbred racing is a vital part of South Australia's social and economic fabric.
Race meetings are enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people every year, from Mount Gambier in the South East to Roxby Downs in the Far North.
Thoroughbred racing results in the employment of approximately 9000 individuals in the state of South Australia.
About the role
The role is responsible for delivering industry leading events and activations for our brands, and would bring together the production and end-to-end delivery of events, brand activations and partnerships.
You would be required to plan and track progress on work tasks, taking an organised and methodical approach to your work, addressing priority tasks first and focusing on the most important goals. Our team is fast paced and passionate, and we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running.
This role requires high level customer service skills as you will be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and volunteers to roll out events. The role would include set-up and pack down of equipment and infrastructure, picking and packing point of sale and promotional materials, organizing performers and entertainment as well as cleaning and general labouring.
Additionally this role would provide administration support to the Industry Marketing Manager ranging from managing the Department's email inbox and distributing communications to the team to preparing reports for partners.
You must be available after business hours and particularly on weekends. To be successful in this role you have had previous exposure or demonstrated interest in working in an Events and Activations set-up role. You will be a team player who can problem solve and use your initiative to get the job done in situations of limited supervision. It would be highly desirable, however not essential, if you had your driver's licence.

Educational / Vocational Qualifications
- Qualification in Event Management;

- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of customer service
- Competence with the Microsoft Office suite of products, email and the internet.

RACING SERVICES OFFICER
This role will will be required to compete a range of duties within the Racing Department. This includes, but is not limited to, handicapping, race day judge, clerk of scales, race programming, horse database management and coordinating the content for the monthly industry Magazine, “The Races”.
Thoroughbred Racing SA Ltd is the governing body for thoroughbred racing in South Australia. There are approximately 185 thoroughbred race meetings held in South Australia each year.
The successful applicant will be expected to learn and will cover all duties within the Racing Department. This includes, but is not limited to, handicapping, race day judge, clerk of scales, race programming, horse database management and coordinating the content for the monthly industry Magazine, “The Races”.
We are seeking a person who is comfortable dealing with customers, understands the Microsoft Office product suite and most importantly is passionate about thoroughbred racing and either has experience in one or more of the duties listed above, or wants to learn.
The successful candidate will need to work some weekends per month as either a judge or clerk of scales at race meetings.
