Thoroughbred Racing SA is controlled by a seven-member Board of Directors, which was appointed in late 2007.
Frances Nelson QC - Chair
A leading figure of this States’ legal establishment, Frances has been Chairman of the Parole Board of South Australia since 1983.
Frances rode trackwork to put herself through university, has competed as an amateur jockey and has won several feature races as a trainer. She has also chaired two major inquiries into South Australian racing and the betting industries.
Simon Ward - Deputy Chair
Simon is a partner in the law firm Piper Alderman and has been since 1979.
As a lawyer he has extensive experience in commercial matters, insurance law, administrative law and dispute resolution.

David Rasheed
David is one of the founding partners of Tilbrook Rasheed and has more than 20 years experience as a Chartered Accountant.
A Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia, David provides business and taxation advice to a wide range of small and medium size businesses.
David Cross
A background in economics and accountancy, David's career includes fifteen years with SOLA International Inc. in varied roles including that of Managing Director. Presently David holds non executive roles with RAA Insurance and Thai Optical Group Ltd along with the position of VIce President of the RAA of SA Inc.
A passion for thoroughbred racing developed through working for bookmakers whist studying at university.
Brian Foster
Brian has a long history of involvement in the thoroughbred racing industry of South Australia.
He has held varied positions on the South Australian Racing Council and the Murray Bridge Racing Club. Brian is also a member of the South Australian Jockey Club and the Victorian Racing Club. For many years he has also been involved in the industry as a horse owner and breeder.
