Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: CHUCKY (Race 4)

EACH-WAY: ACE OF CLUBS (Race 7)

VALUE: MAGNA BELLA (Race 9)

RACE 1 - 12:11PM Eco Skip Hire Handicap (1600 METRES)

SOMERSET MAUGHAM led throughout for a soft win at Sale last time. He’s lightly-raced and in the leading stable of Danny O’Brien, who places his horses well when they come to SA. Back in trip but is the top pick. ALLUSION blew like the wind in betting before getting the job done first-up; he should only improve on that and looms as the danger. ARAY OF SUNSHINE is a smart mare on her day and made very good ground behind Sky Punch in the Leon Macdonald Stakes last time. This is a sharp drop in class. ICE GHOST is racing well and draws a nice gate. Watch SOMERSET MAUGHAM's last start win here.

SELECTIONS: SOMERSET MAUGHAM, Allusion, Aray Of Sunshine

RACE 2 - 12:46PM TAB Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

QUIETLY DISCREET was heavily backed first-up when she was forced to do some work and peaked on her run late to finish fourth behind Mileva. Blinkers go off and winkers go on here. She had trialled very well for that first-up run and can hit back here. Stablemate KEEP ON BOPPING cost $160k and is a son of Li’l Cashy. He has won two trials and in a very good pointer Kayla Crowther has opted to ride him. SCREAMING EAGLE was a $400k yearling and showed improvement at his second trial. JONQUEST is on the back-up from last week when he led and was only reeled in by the well-tried Frankie Pinot. He draws a good gate. SELF SUFFICIENT was a nice run on debut, being caught off the track but really motoring late, and looks a horse with a future. Watch KEEP ON BOPPING's latest trial here.

SELECTIONS: KEEP ON BOPPING, Quietly Discreet, Self Sufficient

RACE 3 - 1:21PM Furphy Handicap (1600 METRES)

PEARL BANDIT has been racing well this campaign. He came off the speed to win smartly, beating subsequent winner CONCONI two back, before closing late behind Lord Vladivostok last time. Draws well and he’ll be in the finish. KALAMON is another racing well. He smashed rivals back in class at Balaklava twice, before a good run behind CANNOT BE SERIOS from a long way back, then another good run behind Ace Of Clubs. He’s back in trip and nicely drawn. CONCONI doesn’t do much wrong, was dominant last time at Murray Bridge, and is aided with the claim tomorrow. MEEHNI was only narrowly beaten by Austin Raider here last time. She draws well and is sure to be in the mix. DR DEE DEE has been racing very well and stuck on strongly last week. He draws to be right in the action from barrier one. EXALTED TRAVELLER is another going well but drawn off the track and usually likes to race on speed. Watch PEARL BANDIT's latest win here.

SELECTIONS: PEARL BANDIT, Kalamon, Meehni

RACE 4 - 2:00PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1050 METRES)

CHUCKY has talent but can be costly. He looked primed, getting to 1300m last time, but got a long way back. Blinkers and Todd Pannell go on here, he draws gate two and has been freshened back to the 1050m. He’s not going to get a better chance to bounce back to the winners’ circle than this. EXTRA MILE is progressive and has been impressive back in class, coming from well back to run down Turf Tapper last time. LA VITA has won just two of 24 but did run second to the smart Game Keeper in March and is a winner fresh. DEEVINE draws a good gate and won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: CHUCKY, Extra Mile, La Vita

RACE 5 - 2:36PM AAMI Handicap (1200 METRES)

BUONA SERA was a Geelong winner on debut and has been around the mark at two runs at Sandown since. She’ll be handy to the speed from the good barrier and looks hard to beat. MIDSHIPS was $2.15-$1.80 when winning at Pakenham before an even effort at Ballarat. He draws well and must be respected. CARLALUISA is better than her latest effort behind Pindaric, while TRIDENT ran well at his Australian debut behind So You Can and should take benefit form that. CLAPTONE was a Moe winner two back but draws out. EXALTED LAURETTA draws well, while TABERNA looks over the odds. Watch BUONA SERA's late win here.

SELECTIONS: BUONA SERA, Midships, Taberna

RACE 6 - 3:16PM Spring Racing Carnival at Morphettville- Oct. 10 - Nov 3. Handicap (Heat 2 Viddora Series) (1100 METRES)

I’m a big fan of LAKHANI ROSE, who was runner-up at all three runs last prep and could easily have won them all. Her pattern is to get back. The claim for Sophie Logan is a plus and she’s right in a race like this, having won two of five first-up. MAGIC SUNSET ran really well first-up from spell over the 1000m trip and is a winner second-up, but the draw is a little sticky. POYSED TO REIN is a mare with upside and was a good winner two back before she was tried against some smart ones in the Queen Of The South Stakes at G2 level in May. She’s a winner fresh and has appeal. RULER BY CHOICE was good when winning first-up at Murray Bridge before being run down last time by VON SAGA, who is flying. She’ll get a lovely run from the inside gate. HEARTY LASS is drawn wide but would be right in this on her best form. She trialled well and must be given some thought. Watch LAKHANI ROSE's last first-up win here.

SELECTIONS: LAKHANI ROSE, Poysed to Rein, Ruler By Choice

RACE 7 - 3:56PM Zilzie Handicap (2000 METRES)

ACE OF CLUBS is going super for Ros Day and made it three wins from his past four, beating Tatalina last time. The 2000m won’t hold any fears and he looks hard to beat and good value at $6. RESURGE was very good first-up from a spell before he failed to make an impression behind Muntham Missile on a soft track last time. He’s a winner over this trip and has a strong appeal. CLASSY JOE is going super and made it three wins from his past four, beating Andrea Mantegna two back, before being beaten 1.1 lengths behind stablemate Flow Meter last time. He’s right up in the weights but is honest. PLACE ME RIGHT was a winner on a heavy track at Moe two starts back and his overall record over this distance is solid. COFFEE AMOUR was good behind CLASSY JOE two back, while TIBETAN jumps up in class after a good maiden win at Gawler, beating Passing Phase, but this is significantly stronger. EXALTED RUTH draws wide but is racing consistently and will no doubt make her presence felt at some stage. ROCK THE BOWLER comes to SA with two wins on the synthetic at Ballarat from his past four. He draws wide but will no doubt measure up in this class. PACE BROTHER was another who won on the Ballarat synthetic recently, before trying his hand over the hurdles. WAIKATO EXPRESS was strong through line when winning here last week. Watch ACE OF CLUBS' last start win here.

SELECTIONS: ACE OF CLUBS, Resurge, Tibetan

RACE 8 - 4:35PM TAB W H Wylie Handicap (1100 METRES)

GARNER is an exciting type who ran some slashing sectionals to narrowly miss out first-up in the Group 3 Bobby Lewis Quality at Flemington, the only time he’s missed a place. He’s got one win and five seconds to his name this track, but does like some give in the track. I wasn’t keen when he opened in the red but he deserves to be favourite. SEEMINGLY DISCREET was brilliant first-up when she found the lead and was a soft three-length winner. This is significantly stronger but Kayla Crowther has opted for him over stablemates SHAMINO and SNITZCRAFT. SHAMINO resumes and was very good last time in. He beat GARNER in the Manihi and did run favourite in the McKay when seventh, beaten four lengths behind Behemoth. He draws a nice gate and races well fresh. EF TROOP has trialled well for his return, beating Instant Celebrity, but his best is on a firm surface. PROPHET’S THUMB is a smart mare with an X-factor. She’s already banked just shy of $300k and is a dual winner first-up from spell. KEMALPASA is a smart horse who handles all surfaces. He’s had a setback but would be right in this if anywhere near his top and his Spring Stakes run behind Behemoth was very good. OUR CAMPANA handles some give in the ground and ARKHAM KNIGHT could be a blow-out if we get the expected rain. Watch GARNER's latest win here.

SELECTIONS: GARNER, Seemingly Discreet, Prophet’s Thumb

RACE 9 - 5:10PM Pike & Joyce Handicap (1100 METRES)

Open race and one with plenty of value. Keen on MAGNA BELLA at a price. She ran really well first-up in May and jumped out pretty well behind Behemoth last week. She could be a blow-out here and has a liking for the sting out of the ground. ONE MORE JACK won six on end last campaign and has trialled well for his return. He was ridden out to win a recent Murray Bridge jump-out over Streetcar Stranger. He’s a bold frontrunner, but is poorly drawn and could be a touch vulnerable late. DEEP DIVE toyed with rivals here two back before failing at Geelong when the jockey felt something was amiss. He’s back here and his best would take beating. WINGS OF PASTRAMI is a nice mare resuming and her fresh form is very good. She hasn’t raced since she was only beaten 2.2 lengths behind Oasis Girl in the Listed Centaurea Stakes in May and could spring a surprise fresh. VIDUKA led and looked the winner before being gunned down by a potential star last week. He draws well and won’t be far away. THOMPSON’S REWARD is capable in a race like this where the pace will be genuine. He just doesn’t win often. SILVERHAWK has been good, winning three of his past five, but in weaker races and is drawn a touch tricky. Watch MAGNA BELLA's last trial win here.

SELECTIONS: MAGNA BELLA, Deep Dive, Thompson’s Reward
