Lincoln Moore's Morphettville Parks Preview

RACE 1 - 12:10PM Holdfast Insurance Handicap (1550 METRES)

PELOTON has been on speed at the majority of his Australian starts. He led throughout to beat East Indiaman this track and trip three runs back. He was game in the Balaklava Cup before he was overhauled after leading at Flemington. He will be handy to the speed and is clear top pick. EXTREME THRILL maps to get a nice run on speed from barrier four and was good last time behind Magna Bella. SUPERVELOCE maps well from the inside gate and should fight out the battle for third with TYCOON DREAMING.

SELECTIONS: PELOTON, Extreme Thrill, Superveloce

RACE 2 - 12:45PM Peter Elberg Funerals Handicap (1250 METRES)

WINNING WEATHER was well tried first-up from a spell and beat home all but Star of Uma on the outer track. That looks a strong form line for this, she draws to be handy to the speed and has upside. He’s come up very short but does look the one to beat. Stablemate SUPER STRIKER was a good Murray Bridge winner before running down the track behind Instant Celebrity in the Oaklands Plate. He’s trialled OK but drawn out. MONTEPULCIANO was $5 into $2.80 and got a long way back at Gawler behind Siyaadeh. He maps well from the inside gate and is worth following. DANIYAH gets the blinkers on here and trialled OK before a good effort behind Mileva first-up. It was been almost six weeks between runs. WILD IMAGINATION had some specking and really hit the line well on debut at Gawler. Her trial leading in was good and she draws a nice gate.

RACE 3 - 1:20PM Weslo Security Maiden Plate (1250 METRES)

Wide gates for a couple of leading hopes have really opened this race up. ROCABELLA was $2.15 into $1.95 on debut when third behind Naleigh on the outer track. She’s poorly drawn, as is NONAME LANE, who was favourite first-up when second behind Cashin’ Chex and had trialled well leading into that. The sticky gate could be an issue here. VANCOUVER VELVET ran second behind Quietly Discreet and Deep Speed before he was sent out a $1.55 favourite at Gawler and was beaten 12.3 lengths behind Mirkwood Forrest. He maps to get a good run from barrier three. KIKUYU KING jumped out OK way back on September 11, while HELLO LADIES wasn’t knocked around in a recent Strathalbyn jump-out. Hard to see SELLIX winning a race – she’s had a lot of chances but draws a good gate and the blinkers go off.

SELECTIONS: ROCABELLA, Vancouver Velvet, Noname Lane

RACE 4 - 1:55PM Furphy Handicap (1300 METRES)

Good race. RENEGADE is going super and was good winning here two back before he burst to the lead a long way out and was reeled in by Magnetic Edge last time. He has the fitness edge on the likes on TERRITORY TITAN who has been freshened up and does go well here. Territory Titan draws the inside gate and will take some catching on his form before that break. HERE COMES LENNI is the interesting runner first-up in SA for Will Clarken. His form at Ascot was pretty good for a race like this. DON’TDREAMIT'SOVER ran well behind One More Jack at his Australian debut and trialled well at Murray Bridge since. He draws a nice gate and is sure to be a factor. LEFT HAND MAN loves it here but is drawn a sticky gate. RUBBLE ran really well at a price behind Tully’s Gold last time. LIKE A HEARTBEAT is flying and was too smart for Leonarda last time. This is harder but he maps well.

SELECTIONS: RENEGADE, Territory Titan, Here Comes Lenni

RACE 5 - 2:30PM Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1300 METRES)

OH PLEASE DIANNA was good behind Hearty Lass two back before fading late in the race won by Trip last time. The stable has made some gear changes but the draw isn’t ideal. MUNSTER is a former Kiwi with Michael Hickmott who looks well suited in a race like this and trialled OK behind Goolagong Rose at Murray Bridge. Barrier 10 a concern though. I think the winner will come out of those three. RANGER CEE JAY draws a nice gate, AUSSIE SOJOURN ran well first-up, and SHARPLY ATTIRED draws to be handy

RACE 6 - 3:05PM TAB Create your Spring Calendar of Play Handicap (1950 METRES)

FLORIANO has been a slow burner but looked good sitting just on speed and racing away for a soft win last time. She must be given plenty of respect here from a good gate and is worth an each-way ticket at a price. STAR STATUS was too strong for rivals last time out and is sure to take some beating again here. COFFEE AMOUR was good when beating Raise An Army last time out and maps well here from barrier two. CONFUSION ran OK last time and has Todd Pannell, while GETOUTTHEWAY is going well and draws a good gate.

SELECTIONS: FLORIANO, Coffee Amour, Star Status

RACE 7 - 3:40PM Chalk Hill Handicap (1000 METRES)

Good race, with barriers again playing a big part. LI’L KONTRA is a good horse and hasn’t raced since the carnival where she was beaten three lengths behind Xilong in the Euclase and 6.1 lengths behind Trekking in the Goodwood. She then went to Flemington. She has a good record here and looks the top pick from the good gate. THOMPSON’S REWARD is low flying and he was super getting over the top of rivals on the outer track last time. However, he’s drawn out and might find himself a long way back. IRISH MINT has a good record here but is drawn a touch awkward. CALL IT A DAY has a good record for a race like this and has trialled well since joining the Will Clarken team. SAORSA has been good at both starts on this track and maps well from barrier four. AADELAD has been kept fresh and is another who will get a nice run. MRS HYDE is drawn a sticky gate but was a good winner two starts back.

SELECTIONS: LI’L KONTRA, Thompson’s Reward, Saorsa

RACE 8 - 4:15PM Twilight Races at Morphettville - Friday Dec 18 Handicap (1550 METRES)

EXALTED TRAVELLER is racing well but has drawn a touch awkwardly in gate seven. He was runner-up here behind Ritratto four starts back and has appeal following some key scratchings. CROWN HARMONIUM draws a good gate and was good last time out behind JOURNICA. GOING GAGA is going well and nicely drawn but finding it hard to break through in similar class. JOURNICA draws a sticky gate and MR STYLISH has some claims. HEIR OF TAVISTOCK is the watch horse. He was well backed last time but is drawn wide here.

RACE 9 - 4:50PM Accolade Wines Handicap (1000 METRES)

EXALTED ZOE is a promising mare. She can probably find her way to the front here from her middle gate and will give them plenty to chase over the 1000m. Ryan Balfour’s VIDUKA pulled ground off EXALTED ZOE last time and despite being drawn a touch tricky looks well placed here. AKKACAN draws poorly but does love the Parks track, while stablemate ANGASTON is first-up but draws a nice gate. LITTLE RICH BOY draws a good barrier, while BEERMINT is going well but is drawn off the track.
