The renowned City of Port Augusta Cup is the major community event on Port Augusta’s social calendar, attracting thousands of racegoers from far and wide.
The historic grandstand continues to provide patrons with the best seat to appreciate the breathtaking view of the Port Augusta Racecourse with the majestic Flinders Ranges as the backdrop. As the only sand-based TAB track in South Australia, Port Augusta thoroughbred racing offers patrons a unique and exciting race day experience.
There are a variety of social and corporate marquee packages which can be tailored to suit your needs. Hospitality packages will be released in the New Year.
Free entry for kids under 18 and free kids entertainment.
The Races have long been known for the stunning fashions sported on the day. We will be hosting a Fashion At The Races qualifying event on this day, with prizes generously donated by our sponsors.

The Port Pirie Bus Service will have several pick-ups on the morning of the City of Port Augusta Cup from within the Port Augusta area.

Cup Eve Dinner
The Friends of the Port Augusta Racing Club are delighted to announce the 2020 Cup Eve Guest Speaker, Joe Agresta.
For over thirty years, Joe was the trackwork rider for Bart Cummings, known as Bart's secret weapon, he told the trainer how his horses were feeling, physically and mentally. Listen to Joe tell his story about his life with racing.
The traditional auction and raffle also takes place on the night with prizes donated by a number of generous sponsors.
