Port Lincoln Racing Club wish to present our board members:
Greg Fitzgerald - Chairman
Greg is a teacher leader in curriculum with over 40 years of experience in education. Amongst his passions is racing horses and contributing to the racing industry.
A great believer in the value and importance of recognising volunteers, and with over 20 years of experience presiding over sporting organisations, those being the Port Lincoln Football League and the Port Lincoln Racing Club, Greg brings skills in planning, governance, event management and major event organisation to the Board.
Tony Irvine - Deputy Chairman
Tony has had vast experience working in district councils in Ceduna & Tumby Bay
He volunteers within the community on the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation Board and Eyre Peninsula Regional Sector Agreement Steering Committee (Climate Change related)
He is a great asset to the Port Lincoln Racing Club Board with his experience in the local government and community sporting clubs in Ceduna.
Katherine has been part of the Port Lincoln Racing Club since 2016 on the Committee and subsequent Board. She is passionate about the club and is committed to driving growth through investing in infrastructure, marketing and personnel to secure future sustainability.
Katherine’s skills and expertise in business and HR, as a Senior Manager in the Port Lincoln Hotel for over 12 years along with her involvement and passion for the tourism industry in Port Lincoln provides an excellent addition to the diverse board structure.
Troy is a seasoned commercial business owner and well-versed in Accounting and commercial Business operations, needs and best practices. With over 23 years of experience in the field. He has successfully developed an efficient business model that is well equipped to endure the imminent challenges of a fast evolving industry (Accountancy and Business Advisory) and adopt a talent team methodology that is securing our current resource needs and meet our succession plan for the next generation of professionals that will form part of our strategic succession plan and exit strategy as a Business owner.
Given his extensive professional and commercial experiences over an extended period of Time, and the fact that he has developed an efficient and team orientated commercial Accounting Practice affords me the time to dedicate to other passions and interests. One of these interests is the thoroughbred racing industry. Being the external accountant for The Port Lincoln Racing Club from 2003-2011, he has a genuine knowledge and understanding Of the financial and business operations of the Club and the industry.
Margot is a registered nurse and works in the Port Lincoln Community at Country Health Connect, she has been a member of the Port Lincoln Racing Club’s committee for some time as well as the Health Advisory Council Committee, Port Lincoln Show Society Committee and is vice president of the Eyre Peninsula Dressage Club
She has been a part owner in multiple race horses in the past years, this experience is what encouraged her to apply for the Board when Port Lincoln Racing Club re structured, given her involvement in the community and experience with equestrian she is a perfect fit here at Port Lincoln Racing Club Inc.
Rick has been a part of the Port Lincoln Racing Club for the last nine years, he is the owner of the Arno Bay Hotel as well has the Navigators Motel here in Port Lincoln.
Due to his experience in the hospitality industry he is a major asset to the Port Lincoln Racing Club and has assisted in expanding our profits in the last five years.
